    Kids of all ages, especially young children, find it to be a great way of spending time with family members in doing hands-on activities. It’s a perfect time to talk about environmental issues that our future generations have to deal with. The climate change, the global warming, and so may Earth Day activities for kids can be created.

    • Utilizing a green food color to create earth day crafts is also a better way or a fun way to create an art project. You can make green eggs as if it was like the Earth and decorate it as you wish.

    • DIY Bird Feeder is something I’ve never been successful at but have attempted a few times. But you can’t leave out bird feeders when it comes to Earth Day activities.

    • Nature Scavenger Hunt is one of the best way to enjoy an Earth day game. The best ideas is to gather a list of things to find such as: flower petals, pine cones, plastic bottles, and more. My kids personally love doing scavenger hunts because of the urgency it gives to find something first, but the search creates and adventure for them.
    • Nature walk at a local park or national parks is a great opportunity for younger kids as well as older ones to engage in fun activities for Earth Day. Not only can you get a good exercise out of it, but the experience you gain from Mother Nature is something that is cherished by the kids. Exploring the land, structure, surroundings, plants, and animals can be part of the walk. Depending on where you go, the scale and the level of the things you see will vary. Sometimes, even taking a nature walk around your neighborhood help you discover so much about the Earth, through the eyes of your kids.
    • Planting seeds is probably one of the most unforgettable Earth Day projects for many. You can go to your local Lowes or Home Depot and grab some seeds for really cheap. Planting them in your backyard is a great way. For me, I usually like to go for the avocado plant. (I currently have two near my kitchen window.) One of my go to projects is planting an avocado tree. The furthest we’ve gone is transferring it to an outdoor vase but eventually died from lack of tender loving care. We are taking another attempt at growing a couple to see how far we can go this time.
    • Not as fun for younger kids (or maybe it can be ) but some enjoy doing some beach cleaning as a volunteer work. Especially for the high schoolers who still need some volunteer hours/experiences, this would a be a great way to help the environment and keep it clean.

    1. These are some great activities to do with my grandson for Earth day. He loves to paint so I think he will love to paint the image of the earth on paper plates! I have a little Picasso!

    2. We usually do a paper Mâché earth project for the kiddos!! I’ll have to try some more of these activities out.

    3. I feel like there hasn’t been done for Earth Day lately. It is good to have a list to work off, and to encourage kids to do some earth day activities. I am hoping to have the kids help clean up the neighborhood this year.
